What many if not most pastors do not realize, is that probably 95% of all ministry has absolutely NOTHING to do with preaching from behind a pulpit. Ministry is not leading or heading up a committee or being the "official leader" of the church.
Ministry, from the word minister, means serve. If the "minister" is not serving, then he/she is not a minister at all. If all they do is preach, they are preaching the wrong message.

To tell you about the need for food in the Lakehills area is vital but words just makes it hard to comprehend, but these photos say more than words possibly can.     |      |
Below is a photo of our volunteer staff, minus the photographer, Sara. We took the photo before the start of the distribution, because at the end, after 54,000 pounds of food has been carried out, it is hard to take a picture in the standing position. They are TIRED in a big way, but blessed that they had the opportunity to serve the community.

Because of the serious meltdown and downturn of our economy, the finances to keep supplying the necessary food for the rapidly growing number of hungry families is really affecting the quanity of food that we are able to provide.
To date, just in Lakehills, there are now over 100 families out of work. Five of these families have lost their home. 10 are in foreclosure. Nine of these are rented homes and being evicted.
Finances to say the least are falling off because of the lack of money in everybodies pocket, but it is evident, more now than ever before, that now is the time to give. If we Help Other People Excel now, when they have the opportunity in the future, they will be the ones that will help you when you need it the most.
I ask you to truly consider what you might do to help us make a difference in the lives of others.
